Skincare Empties

Using up a beauty or skincare product is such an exciting feeling. I’m so excited to share with you my experiences with several skincare products I’ve been using over the past few months. Some of these items are sample sizes and some are full size. I’ll be sure to indicate which product is a mini.

Algenist POWER Recharging Night Pressed Serum

Claims: A highly concentrated solid serum to regenerate, smooth, and recharge in as little as 10 days.

Size: 0.23 US fl oz/7 ml

Price: $12

Experience: I was pleasantly surprised with this product. After seeing several reviews about this product causing breakouts, I can’t deny I was a little nervous to try it out. Luckily, I did not experience any skin irritation. I thought this serum smelled so wonderful. The scent kind of reminds me of a combination of cocoa butter and coconut. The serum felt very thick but I didn’t mind this as I used it in the winter while my skin was super dry and in need of something thick.

That being said, although I had a pleasant experience with this product, I don’t see myself repurchasing it anytime soon. I think that for the price, I’d rather buy something that doesn’t feel as heavy or thick.

AmorePacific The Essential Creme Fluid

Claims: An innovative moisturizer featuring the hydrating qualities and nutrients of a rich cream in a refreshing, fast-penetrating, fluid-like texture.

Size: 0.16 fl oz/5 ml

Price: Mine was a sample size that you cannot purchase. The 3.0 fl oz./90ml size is $98

Experience: I really enjoyed using this product. It provided intense hydration but had a runny, liquid consistency which is something I appreciated because it didn’t feel thick or greasy on my skin. I liked the smell, it’s very light and clean. I would love to repurchase this – I just wish it wasn’t $98!!

Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser

Claims: Refreshing Gel Cleanser – All Skin Types is a purifying, foaming gel cleanser gently removes impurities and diminishes imperfections while controlling excess shine, leaving skin supple and refreshed.

Size: 6 fl oz./177 ml

Price: I don’t think you can purchase this product separately. It’s not on the Clarisonic website. If you purchase a Mia 2 it shows that a smaller size is included in the kit but I don’t think you are able to buy this without the Mia 2.

Experience: I received this in a starter kit when I got my Clarisonic. I love the smell of this cleanser. It felt my skin feeling clean and refreshed after using. Will probably repurchase in the future.

Clinique Pep-Start™ HydroBlur Moisturizer

Claims: A lightweight, 24/7 hydrator that provides matte moisturization, instantly blurs imperfections, and preps for makeup.

Size/Price: Mine was a sample size that you cannot purchase. The 1.7 oz./50 ml size is $29.50

Experience: I did not like this product. It’s super thick and does not go on smoothly. It made my skin appear matte temporarily and by temporarily I mean like 10-15 minutes..Because of it’s consistency, I thought it would be super hydrating..it wasn’t. It left my skin feeling dry and made my make up appear super patchy. Really not into this.

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream

Claims: A lightweight moisturizing cream that nourishes skin for an instant luminous finish.

Size/Price: Mine was a sample size that you cannot purchase. The 1 oz. size is $170, the 2 oz. size is $315, and the 3.4 oz. size is $475

Experience: You guys… this cream is incredible!! This winter has been extremely rough on my skin. I would apply this cream at night before bed and would wake up with beautiful, soft, and moisturized skin! It really felt like a miracle. This is definitely going on my wish list.

Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Claims: Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel with sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 quenches dry skin and keeps it looking smooth, supple and hydrated day after day. It boosts skin’s hydration level and locks it in all day.

Size: 1.7 fl oz./50 ml

Price: $19.99

Experience: Love this stuff. It’s hydrating and doesn’t irritate my skin. Initially, I was a little nervous to try this because I didn’t want my skin to appear super oily but this gel doesn’t leave your skin oily at all. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. Leaves my skin feeling super soft and supple. This is my second time purchasing this and I will buy it again. It’s perfect for everyday use. This entire line has been awesome!

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream

Claims: A concentrated 30 percent hyaluronic acid cream that transforms atmospheric vapor into fresh, pure water, providing your skin with a continuous burst of intense hydration that lasts up to 72 hours.

Size: 0.25 fl oz./7.5 ml

Price: Mine was a sample size that you cannot purchase. The 0.67 oz./20 ml size is $22 and the 1.6 oz./48 ml size is $52

Experience: I had a fine experience with this cream. It felt very lightweight and absorbed so quickly which is something I really appreciated! It has a silky feel and didn’t clog my pores. However, I don’t know if I see myself purchasing this in the future. Not because I didn’t like it, I just don’t really see a need for it because of all the other hydrating creams I’ve been trying lately.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser

Claims: An award-winning, highly effective one-step facial cleanser to tone and hydrate skin.

Size: 16 fl oz./473.1 ml

Price: $36

Experience: Oh I just don’t know where to begin with this cleanser. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve repurchased this. A little goes such a long way. It’s the only cleanser that doesn’t irritate my skin after consistent daily use. It doesn’t leave my skin with that tight pulling dry feeling which is something I can’t stand. I’ve used this for YEARS with no complaints. It effectively washes off my eye makeup with minimal effort, no harsh rubbing whatsoever!
